Cars in Germany's Town Found Smeared with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Approximately 50 automobiles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Police say they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.

The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they stated.

Officers then discovered multiple other smeared vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Police say early analysis indicate the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no lead as to where it came from; officials are not yet informed of any harm in relation with the event," they stated.

City officials said they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have requested to the residents for information.

An important representative commented the vandalism left him without words and had to be addressed promptly.

"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing violent incident half a decade ago," he wrote on social media, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on people of migrant background in 2020.
